How to Create a Colourful Tablescape for Holi

Holi, the festival of colour is the perfect excuse to bring friends together and create a colourful tablescape that celebrates all the joy that colour brings! Holi usually falls in March, and marks a change in seasons. In Delhi the Spring weather is just right for a lunch outdoors, so we set our colourful Holi tablescape for lunch outside on the terrace.

Lay the Tablecloth

We started with this bright Blue Tablecloth as a base. Hand screen printed with a subtle print in a gorgeous bright hue, it instantly adds a bold splash of colour to the table whilst being neutral enough to pair with other colours and prints.

Next we laid our Fairy Chimney Table Runner which defined the centre of the table with contrasting colour and print, and added colourful napkins in a mix of different patterns. Sometimes it’s nice to create a tablescape with all the same linens, but for Holi wanted to create a fun and festive feel so more is more! Whilst they all have different patterns and colours, all the napkins we chose have similar palette so look beautiful together. Our napkins are sold in sets of two so you can easily mix and match.

Add Flowers!

Flowers bring life and colour to any table setting. We used strings of traditional orange marigolds in a circle around place settings and around a central vase of casually arranged flowers, with little glasses of smaller stems dotted around the table.

Colourful Bunting

Bunting always adds a fun festive vibe, so we strung fabric bunting made from our fabric off-cuts up on the walls.
